TAILCOAT GUIDE

The tailcoat looks basically the same all over the world. Only small details distinguish an older tailcoat from a newly produced one. There are a little thinner and more flexible fabrics in today's tailcoats. A wool blend of wool/polyester is the most common quality today. It covers very little and is easy to maintain.

To be properly equipped, the following is needed:

• Tailcoat jacket
• Tailcoat trousers
• Tailcoat shirt
• White bow
• White waistcoat or black waistcoat
• Chest buttons

You will also need cufflinks. Nice black socks, preferably a little longer.

White handkerchief for the breast pocket of the tailcoat jacket. Patent leather shoes should be according to the rule book. If you are going to use something else, it must be black lace-up shoes of a nicer model with nice polish. To keep the pants in place, white suspenders are used.
